Lithograph, Sun Rising,
by Su Xin-Ping

A man
greets first light,
light

apparent on brow
and headcloth,
the shirt draping

hip and knee.
His wrists turn
the palms out

the way a woman
knows
with her hands

the back
of a man sleeping,
knows wind

in the garden,
having
carried the lanterns.
